A good conversation with a friend about an unexpected loss during a moment of growing affection influenced the making of this song. It’s very obvious, but the world is cruel and unfair. How do we change the story to make it bearable, make sense? Why do bad things happen to good people? The scent of their perfume is what only remains as you try to put everything into perspective.

I took the bus and metro to a Kali Uchis show in Inglewood my first week of having moved to LA. I grew up taking public transportation back home so the process of it was nothing new. I saw a lot of interesting things that made me realize that I had been living in a bubble. This, along with Kali’s beautiful performance, fueled my drive for adventure and taking in the beauty of life.
